Mark Doyle

After a successful career as Tax Director with Grant Thornton, the entrepreneur in me forged a new path. A fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and an AITI-Chartered Tax Advisor, I founded Doyle Keaney with Paula in 2017.
My areas of expertise span across multiple tax specialisms including:
- Succession planning
- Personal tax planning
- Corporate reconstructions
- Mergers and acquisitions
- MBOs
- Share buybacks
- Property transactions
- Revenue Interventions
I have the privilege of sharing my expertise by speaking extensively for professional bodies. I particularly enjoy this as it keeps me engaged with my peers and at the forefront of tax legislation.
When I am not advising clients, I write for professional publications and contribute to articles in the national press on tax matters. I am the sole author of ‘Capital Gains Tax: A Practitioners Guide’ published by Chartered Accountants Ireland.
Paula Keaney

My 20 year career has been shaped from working in Ireland’s largest professional services firms, namely Ernst & Young, Grant Thornton and Mazars. Together with Mark, I founded the specialist firm we have today, Doyle Keaney.
I am a Chartered Tax Advisor and fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. I have worked with hundreds of owner managed business and high net worth individuals, advising on:
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Debt restructuring
- Succession planning
- Property transactions
- Share Schemes
- Share Buy Backs
Writing technical papers and lecturing on various tax matters are activities that I enjoy and that I deem essential as a professional advisor. I work in collaboration with the Irish Taxation Institute, Chartered Accountants Ireland, Chartered Certified Accountants, The Law Society of Ireland and the Irish Tax Review.
Having grown up in the West of Ireland, near the inspiring Atlantic coast, I am steadily growing a client base from East to West of the country.
Amanda-Jayne Comyn

I worked for many years with Mark and Paula in Grant Thornton and joined Doyle Keaney in 2020. As a Barrister-at-Law and a Chartered Tax Advisor, I bring a legal dimension to the team. Having worked in large accountancy practices and as a Tax Partner in law firm Philip Lee, I understand the value to the client of the joint offering.
With 20 years’ experience, my expertise lies across both corporate and personal tax areas including:
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Corporate transactions, restructurings and mergers
- Succession, Estate and retirement planning
- Property transactions
- Stamp duty
- Revenue Interventions
- Tax Litigation
- Share Schemes
I have significant technical writing experience as author and co-author of ‘Bloomsbury’s Irish Law of Stamp Duty’ and ‘Corporate Transactions: Tax and Legal Issues’ on behalf of the Irish Taxation Institute. To remain at the cutting edge of tax legislation, I regularly speak at conferences and sit on committees across multiple professional organisations.
As with all Corkonians, my roots are strong and I work and partner with many firms across the South of the country.
